#Commonsense - The Real "1 Percent"

80% of US millionaires are first generation wealthy in their families and only 14% of them are in banking and finance. Hardly worthy of the evil moniker that the #OWS crowd espouses.

I’d like to believe that I still have the opportunity to become one of the 1% before my time on this rock is over. While it is harder than ever, the USA still represents the best opportunity a person has to become a millionaire and join the 1%.

Purposeful Kids

I have two handsome sons. One just coming into his own and the other beginning to walk. I’m already trying to figure out how to guide them. The world they inherit will move many times faster than mine did. Do I push them toward college? Athletics? Showbiz? Maybe blogger is the way to go?

I am in a serious quandry to figure out education that truly gets them to be healthy and wealthy adults. Not just financial wealth, but the kind of wealth that allows them to chase their passions and not just their tales. Live where they want to live, do what they want and generally live more free.

Sounds like I am from a depressed part of the world, but while living in the land of the free, I don’t always feel free to be me. I suppose no one really does unless they live at the top of a mountain somewhere. And, I know you make your life they way you want it. My own path is far from over (I hope), but nonetheless I want them to start out farther down the path.

I realize I’m not the only parent to want more for their kids, but I’m determined to find some answers.
